SHIELD centralizes workplace safety reporting so observations can be captured consistently, assessed, tracked and reviewed by the people responsible for action. Navigation and permissions are controlled by assigned roles.
Built with Python and Django, SHIELD supports browser-based workflows on desktop and mobile in an appropriately configured environment. Its current distribution is a local desktop implementation, not a hosted public online service.

Important distinction: For Safety Officers, completing ABC / Final Check and selecting Save exits the form back to the Report Register. Saving does not perform a formal Closure. Closure is restricted to Administrator and Safety Advisor roles.
